Jews Say Selichot at Joseph's Tomb

Kever Yosef Hatazadik(IsraelNN.com) Nine busloads of Jews entered Joseph's Tomb Thursday night to pray and say selichot, the penitential prayers that are customarily recited during the weeks preceding Rosh HaShana, among other occasions.

The Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Gershon Mesika, was among the faithful, as were Rabbi Aharon Katzin of the Izri philanthropic foundation and Abe Cohen, a philanthropist from the U.S.A.. Mesika has established a lobby group numbering 25 Knesset members for restoring Joseph's Tomb and hopes to recruit funds for the project.
 
The Samaria Brigade Commander, Itzik Bar, accompanied the faithful, who brought generators with them for electricity.
